Dear Barry,
Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World(r) Resort.
The 1967 Corvair was purchased from Larry Poston in Ocoee Florida.
History is that the car was originally purchased in Mattoon, Illinois, then
was moved to Akron Ohio
for three years then was moved to Florida in 1997. While in Illinois and
Ohio, it never saw any salt in that it was not driven in the winter. It was
always a garage kept vehicle. The car belonged to
Larry's grandmother, then was passed onto his great aunt, was passed down to
his father and then
passed onto Larry. Larry was the forth owner of the car. The car has low
original miles and does
have an air conditioning unit original equipment. At one time Larry was
involved in a Corvair Club.
The original color of the car was Turquoise Green. Our new color is Cordovan
Maroon which was one of the color options available on the Corvair Color in
1968.
The interior was left original and was not reconditioned. We were looking
for a companion car for
the existing Ramble in the park and the Corvair was just such a classic
identifiable car of the
60's.
If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.
Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if
applicable on all
correspondence.
Thank you!
Sincerely,
Steve Davitt

We visited the Magic Kingdom, MGM, Animal Kingdom, and Epcot last week. My
wife and I and our 5 yr
old, Rachel, had a wonderful time. We gathered 32 character signatures.
While in Animal Kingdom, I noticed a 1966-67 Corvair 4 door (more correctly,
a sport sedan) in
Dinoland on display, near the Triceratops Twirl. If possible, I'd like
information on the car, as
to the owner, and the history of the car, and how it arrived to be on
display in the park, how long
it's been there, etc. He/she is more than welcome to email me.
The Corvair world is fairly large, and some of the best people I've ever
met. They will be glad to
know the history of this car. I personally own 3, my brother owns 4, and my
father has over 20.
I'm the 2005 President of CORSA SC, a Corvair club located in the upstate of
SC, dedicated to the
preservation and exhibition of these cars.
Thank You,
Barry Ellison
