We made it home just fine but almost 3 hours late. :-( Scott's trailer almost lost a wheel pulling out of the facility. He/we were extremely lucky as the outside bearing of the (non brake) front axle on the drivers side was blown and it was on the driver's side so when he heard a strange noise he quickly spotted it from looking out his side mirror. We removed the tire from the axle, the fender from that side and slowly drove to the RV shop at I-95. We were able to secure bearings from the RV store, Wheel bearing grease from the Gander Sports shop next door and accomplish a repair in their parking lot. The reasons it took so long were multiple as Scott was sold a wrong bearing the first time, he had to fight the crowd to make the exchange, the RV store sold no wheel bearing grease, we had to improvise to get the failed bearing race out of the hub, we made three trips into Gander's (first me to purchase grease but also discover a complete hub replacement kit for $45.): second trip was to get Scott and the trailer over to Ganders lot from the RV lot and both of us back in Gander's to purchase a 1750 lb hub kit and see if the hub would fit our spindle: third trip back into Gander's to return the hub kit and purchase the wheel bearing grease (marine blue) :-) Then we removed the failed front bearing race and pressed the new one in using the ball of my spare trailer hitch. We then used the existing back bearing race after closely inspecting it as we had no way to press this race back into the hub. We then used a 4x4 wood trailer chock to press the the dust cover seal/retainer onto the hub to hold the rear bearing and finally were able to reinstall the hub assembly on the spindle. We had to use wire on the spindle castle nut as the old cotter key was broken when the original bearing failed and broke it and blew the front dust cap off and into the ditch water at the side of the road. We tightened everything up, spun the hub for smoothness and then stayed in touch by cell phone every hour for the first five hours. The repaired hub performed perfectly and Scott and #112 arrived home safely. Two things in closing, Scott had inspected and greased all 4 trailer hubs before traveling to Jacksonville for last years convention and yes he will check the newly repaired hub this week.

Hi Chuck
Hope you made it home okey ! That plug in the oil pump hole was the leaker, it had oil in that allen wrench hole again. It was a brass threaded plug held in by the set-screw, I had used plumbers teflon tape, and as you pointed out it did not work.
I filed a grove around it and put an o-ring on it , I think that will do the trick
Later - Gene
P.S. I was lucky, I got home put all the stuff in the back garage and was just moving the truck to the house garage when it started raining..
