On my kelmark 350 sbc i installed an under engine scoop. it is mounted
forward of the motor mounts on the X member,on about a 45 degree rake. in this
location being so low to the ground i used a truck tire flap or mud guard. they
are about 1/4" thick and have the reinforced fabric. i secured one edge to a
piece of alunimum that had the 45 degree bend. i used the flap because it
was tough, somewhat flexible and free. heck, i found it laying on the side of
the road ! in this location you need something that will bend and would be
ok if it chaffed the road,, i installed it and still had to cut some off of
it,,, currently it only hits the road if the road is crowned.
but it prior would chaff the hwy if i went over a dip in the hwy at speed
when the car would settle a little,,, clearance now is 2.5" off the ground,,
you need to just drive the car and keep cutting material away,, above the
alunimum mounting strip i installed some SS sheet metal to extend on same
angle upward,,,

So just keep your eyes open for mud flaps and use that material. and make
sure the upper edge is secured to the car,,,
