Hello,

All this was brought about because the engine cradle only has 32 3/4 inch of
free space in front of the trans. I think I need about an inch more to fit
the engine, but that is all I can get out of this set up (hence the 1 inch
rearward offset).

If I lengthen the control arms an inch and I can push the trans an inch
beyond that, that should give me about 34 3/4 inch. If anyone knows if that is
enough room (or not enough room) to put the engine in there, I would appreciate
the information and the correct measurement from the trans to the front of the
engine, including space to change a belt.

The leg room was just a beneficial consideration as I am 6' 5" and these cars
a re a little bit tight for me to sit into comfortably. Also, I wanted to
raise the engine so I could lower the car, keeping a better center of gravity
and a horizontal plane on the axles at the same time. By doing this, only
having to male one angular change to the u-joints rather than two by lowering and
setting to the rear.

Chris, I have the linkage kit for the trans but did not make the rods from
the shifter to the trans yet because the set up is not in. Do you think there
would be much of a problem for the linkage to angle up another inch to get to
the trans?

Thanks guys.

Rob
