Just a side note...these guys are pretty decent to deal with.  I called them 
to order rear discs for my 70 Chevelle.  By the time we got done talking 
they convinced me to buy their super duper drum brake setup for the rear. 
Their disc setup was way more money but for my car the guy didn't think it 
would be worth the trouble or that I would see much of an improvement.  I 
was surprised by the guys honesty.  He was right too.  The car stops harder 
than I thought possible (Hotchkiss suspension, 12" discs in front).

I don't know if their big drum setup would work on a Corvair.  It uses 11" x 
2" drums with fairly large wheel cylinders and some sort of fancy shoes. 
They brag of a large surface area and a high coefficient of friction.
