If we can go to the same ISP that set-up the domain name, they are likely to still have it.  They have so many names that they typically don't get around to clearing them out.  Odds are good that V8vairs is still available.  If you build the site yourself, please do not use the Microsoft tools, as they create a ton of weird style sheets and other complexities that make it a pain for others to pick-up should you want to transition ownership of the site to another person.  Tools that do basic sites with basic style sheets, php scripting, etc. are much better.

By the way, I'm in for $25 and have a PayPal account.  If you don't have one, signing up takes 60 seconds and it is well worth it.  Two ways to do it; one is with your own email and the other is to use one of the email accounts the ISP gives you along with the domain name, e.g. info at v8corvairs.org.  Easy way to collect dues. If you don't attach it to a bank account, you can just use the funds you have in the PayPal account to spend for whatever.  Only restriction there is you can only spend it where the other party has a PayPal account.  If the ISP takes PayPal payments, you are golden for running and maintaining the website.
