sounds like a great project, and you still have room for five (or four, in your case).

I have wondered why more Corvair owners have not put late model FWD drivetrains in like this.

  Got bored with my V8 Vair and got tired of lousy gas mileage, so I decided to do something about it.  I took a perfectly restored '66 Corsa convertible and am putting a 3.8 Liter V6 (Pontiac Grand Prix GTP)  Supercharged, 300 hp etc, with a manual 6 speed from a 2006 Pontiac G6.  This all fits behind the stock back seat.  See my build thread here:
