[V8Vairs] Wheels and Tires

The leading distance would be determined by caster and the distance your wheel centerline is from the ground. So caster is the angle of the line and kingpin leading distance is the distance from centerline of the axle or tire contact patch to where the line hits the ground. What is the purpose of measuring it that way? It seems a lot more difficult to measure than caster.
Since caster tilts the tire the wrong direction when you turn how does that help understeer? It seems to me that it would do the opposite.

"kingpin leading distance" do you mean caster?
*******
this is a virtual kingpin ....extend a line thru your top ball joint, thru
the bottom ball joint, and to the ground.... note the direction & distance
from the center of your tire contact patch.

this is similar to the effects of caster, in that more gives a bit of
stability, but the tradeoff is, for each, more time lag in changing
directions ...

if you have understeer due to not-enuff tire sticky upfront, you can get
more steering by putting in more caster...the tradeoff is more time lag
....and also you now have to lift your car at each corner.
