  HI  Mike , 



           IT  would  depend  on  the  glue. A  lot  of  that  stuff  uses  common  contact  cement. That  is  heat  sensitive, and  might  fail  in  direct  sun  very  quickly.  I  might  look  for  some  type  of  marine  channel, and  fasten  it  with  3m 5200 or  B oat-Life.  This  stuff  is  not  so  sensitive  to  ultra-violet.

home depot has a 1/4-5/16" half moon shaped closed cell foam gasket that 
could be used to keep moisture out of the window channel. the flat surface 
is self adhesive so it's fairley easy to install. used it on my kit car to 
seal the plexiglass headlight covers. had to order it on line and if your 
interested think i have the part number some place-mike mann
