<VV> Gas tank cleaning options.

Just rebuilt the carbs. Runs great out of a gas can. Hit the 550 idle
right out of the gates (no re-adjustments), primed the carbs and off it
went. Didn't even have to crank it. Nice steady streem of gas when you
pump the cross shaft.

Went to change the inline filter I added years ago. Very rusty gas.
Thinking I should clean out the tank. But if I look in the outport side
it is clean as new.

Last time I cleaned out a tank I drained the gas into several cans. And
made a swab out of old socks and a hanger. Figured at least I could
remove sediment. Don't want to remove the tank.

I have seen several gas tank sealants in the catalogs. It does not
currently leak.

1. Are they any good?
2. Any better methods for cleaning the tank in the car?
3. Anything topical recommended to prevent rust out from the outside?

Thanks for the advice.
