<VV> Weak oil pump? 65 Turbo

Hi All,

Recently I had to park my 65 Corsa Turbo on the driveway since the garage was
otherwise occupied with another project. The driveway has a decent incline,
nothing huge and the car was parked with the front high. It sat that way for
4 days.

Today I changed the coil to deal with another problem I was having and started
the car up. The engine started without a problem, but cylinder 5 was making a
loud clanking noise as the piston moved back and forth ("clack, clack,
clack"). I stopped the engine and checked the oil. It was between the "add"
and "full" lines on the dip stick. Nonetheless, I added some oil until it was
at the "full" line.

I started the car again. Still noise, but slightly less intense. I decided
to put the car on level ground so I backed it off the driveway and parked it
on the street. Turned the car off, waited a minute, started it up again.
Still noise, but quieter. Turned the car off, waited another minute and
started it up again. The noise was just barely there. I let the engine run
for a few minutes and the sound was completely gone.

Needless to say, I didn't park the car on the driveway after that. Is this an
indication of a week oil pump? The odd thing was it was only one cylinder.
Why not also #6?

I'm looking forward to your thoughts!

Thanks,

Mike
