Like I said, Matt, you all are much smarter than I. I guess I was just stating the obvious for those of us who cannot tear down an engine and get it back together in the time it takes to setup a leakdown!! <gggg> Or for that matter, tear down one at all!!

I've just noticed at times that when you see things like a hairline crack in a head and other anomolies, that it sometimes helps to do leakdowns. No argument, compression tests are good things. Folks that are tearing down water pumpers that suffer from cracks in water jackets, blown head gaskets, etc. can benefit from this test.

Now about those turnkey vairs... I can turn my key too, but unfortunately, nothing happens... I think it might have to do with the fact that when I look in the engine compartment, all I see is floor!! <ggg>

I have a pretty good plan for a homemade leakdown tester that I would be happy to send anyone who may be interested in buiding one for next to no money. Just email me off list and I'll send it to you.

Thanks for your time and thanks Matt.
