The "meshwire"  probably results in a 10 -5 Micron  rating, which means it 
will TRAP / STOP  90%  of ALL  particles that are that size or larger....but 
only 90%.....

Racers with $50k+  engines use them excluseivly [ not necessarily that brand].

They are not worried about "long term" / combustion by-products, etc...just 
metal...

Speaking of which.....Hank....what is the Micron rating"  on these filters???
