Took a run up to New Smyrna Beach, Canal Street (Florida) to the Saturday
night cruise in since the weather was perfect. I though getting there by
5:00 I would be assured a spot on the main street. Oops - the place was
packed. I did manage to get a place just off the main street between a
roadster and a 440 Charger. Saw everything from a VW with a Cadillac engine
to a 50's Dodge Power wagon (beautiful) to a brand new SSR, not to mention
several different Studebakers. There was one car, I think it may have been
a Pontiac, the only name on it was Beaumont. Looks like a last 60's car and
some of the interior looks as if it's Pontiac. Any ideas out there?
Had a lot of people stop by to look at the 'vair. Seemed to be running
about 10 to 1 compared to the neighboring cars. Those that stopped by liked
the car and had lots of questions. Some were even looking for a Corvair.
Even had people on the interstate honk and give a thumbs up as we were
driving to the event.
