Subject: <VV> Re: MORE ON VALVE ADJUSTMENT?
i find that replacement type lifters(chevy V8 type?) are more touchy to get
right hot OR cold....than good ole worn corvair ones of course maybe i
need
more practice... regards tim colson <unsnip>
I have heard and experienced some of this myself, as recently as last night
on my '66 and in a "Techlines" question last week. Perhaps the currently
available lifter is semi-incompatible? I'd be interested in hearing the
experiences of others. In my own case and the Techlines question, the lifters were
Sealed Power 817s. The symptoms are: anything tighter than zero lash, hot or cold,
running or not, the valve doesn't seat and compression is decreased.

Anyone have any personal experience or insight?
