<VV> AM Radio Repair

I'd like to keep my original 65 radio in the Turbo Corsa Coupe I'm presently restoring. The radio works, but it will only will pick up one or two stations of the most local. A while back, someone posted a repair solution for this type of symptom. I'm no radio technician, but I'd be willing to give it a try. If this information is no longer available, who would you recommend for doing this type of antique radio repair and the approximate cost.
