In the floor supports of a Lakewood I'm working on are some big 5/8" square
nuts, one on each side. They are welded to a reinforcing plate which in turn
is welded to the inside of the support channel. What are/were they for? My
initial guess is that they were used for retaining the body during manufacture
but since the support channels themselves are not attached very securely
except to the floor boards, this doesn't make much sense. Anybody know? Note
that the 5/8" is the bolt size.
