<VV> Late model emblem trivia....

My 66 Corsa convertible has the "Corvair" emblem on the hood AND on the
front panel. At first I thought maybe the hood had been changed. The
original color of the hood is the same as the car. Than today on Car And
Driver television, they had a section on the Corvair. The late model
convertible they showed had the emblem on the hood and front panel also.
My VIN is low, 2,XXX.  So, my question is, has my hood possibly been
changed and ended up with the same color hood? Or could GM possibly had
some 65 hoods left over and used them up on the early 66??
