<VV> Changing transaxle fluid

Hello,
  I am new to this list and I am hoping you can help me. I am nearly finished reconditioning a 66 Corsa. It has been a 25 year project and it still has its original transaxle fluid. How do I drain it? I have not found a drain plug in the 66 box. DO I just remove the seal aroung the shift linkage? Any help would be greatly appreciated. If I get it drained, is there any particular fluid you recommend? It has positraction.
