That's the speed we cruise at on French motorways - the limit is 130 km/h,
which is 83 mph, so with the 10% margin you're O.K. up to 90-95 without
upsetting the police. In Italy the limit is 150 (93 mph - the speed you're
doing in the vid) but you can cruise at 110-120 mph without trouble (the
police overtake you at that speed!). It's only scary on the (frequent!)
occasions when a Mafioso comes up behind you and flashes you to pull over -
you can always tell Mafiosi because they drive silver Mercedes S-Classes
with blacked out windows, in the fast lane, at a steady 130-140, and
EVERYONE gets out of their way - usually before they even have to flash.

It doesn't feel dangerous except in heavy traffic or with those Mafia guys
on your tail. Mind you, I am glad that the rollover we had last year was
only at 65, because even at that speed we slid along upside-down for quite a
long way before stopping (not a lot of friction in a Lancia roof!).

Cheers

Alan

P.S. I love the way the Mercedes tells you very politely to take the next
right... in English!
