<VV> voltage regulator problem / grounding

Matt, if the regulator is mounted with the stock rubber vibration isolators 
then then case is not grounded.  If the case is mounted directly to the 
firewall, then it is already grounded and the short grounding wire is not 
needed.  A voltage regulator must have a ground reference, otherwise it has 
no way of "knowing" the alternator output voltage.
