Here's what has worked for me. 
1. Nail them with PB Blaster. LEt them soak for a couple of days. 
2. Get a torch, and heat the crap out of the area where they screw into the 
manifold.
3. TRy to get them out while they are good and hot. 

This has almost always worked for me, except in one case only.
