Item Description:
This auction is for a corvair prototype engines  built by chevrolet
engineering for the 1967 model run. They were never put into production.
They have many improvements over the stock engines, included are no push
rod tubes, head gaskets as they integrated into a one piece cylinder/head
units. Included in the auction:

2 crankcases
6 cylinder units, good condition, need cleanup, valve guide work, honing,
etc.
2 cylinder units, as above, but need exhaust stacks installed.
4 cylinder units, need repair of cracks/breaks, valve guides, etc.
12 valve covers (need 1/cyl)
3 piston/rod assy., 3-9/16" GM (rods are stock)
8 rocker arms (need 12 total)
10 valve cover retainer clips (1/cyl)
8 exhaust stack spacers (need 6 total)
4 steel sleeves, to mount intake manifold (need 6 total, easy to make)
7 rubber 0-rings for above (stock item)
1 cyl base gasket template, aluminum
12 pushrods
11 guide plates for pushrods (need 1/cyl)
1 engine cover, finned. This was a GM design change to remove the oil
cooler, THIS DOES NOT WORK, the only one in existance, but you can't
install on engine.)
1 set shrouding (partial incl top, cooling doors, etc)

The above parts can be used to build at least one expermential engine as
developed by Chevrolet. Additional stock parts, modified parts, and
commerically avaiable parts (e.g. pistons ) as well as clean-up and
maching/ light fabracting will be needed.  There were only 10 of these
engines built. one is in the Covair museum, one in Doug Roe's Snow-Plow
historical race car,one blew-up at G.M. & these two. This will be the
finnal great iteme to your Corvair collection!!!!!
