Lexington Report Monday

Monday is not really a Convention day. But there were still things to do.
NECC hosted a special Drag Racing event close by. More than 30 Corvairs, and a
few non-Corvair showed up and ran hundreds of runs at Mountain Park Dragway in
Clay City, KY. Rob Landers ran 17 practice runs before the dial-in bracket
racing started! After everybody was done with practice, people chose their
dial-ins, and one-to-one eliminations started. "Last man standing" was a Rampside -
And he beat a Yenko Stinger to win the title! Lots of fast cars, some into the
twelves. All reports will be in the Communique, I'm sure!
Last nights weather has departed - a few showers today but not too much. Lots
and lots of Corvairs continue to roll in. Many on trailers, but most on
tires! The vendor set-up begins this evening and the vendor sales begins tomorrow
at 1 pm. I'll be kinda busy from them on. But I'll try to present a report each
day. I am really looking to listening to David E. Davis from Automobile
Magazine on Thursday. - Seth Emerson
