It really is a fraud..."peak HP"...but is just another "marketing gimic"  IMO

Bottom line...these sub $200  Comp.  are a good bang for the buck!  They are 
direct drive[3450rpm]...CAST IRON cyl.  and oiled......

They seem to pump lots of 90-125psi air....for the $$$..  How long they will 
last??  I, just prior to selling my 30 yr Craftsman 1hp /12 gal  2 cyl. unit,  
pulled the head and made sure all was well.....still hone marks!  I never 
changed
the oil!  I did keep FILTERS [ scotchbrite]  on the intakes...this unit has 
probably run over a1,000 hrs.! [ I did have a 5hp 2 stage 60gal. tank  for 
years, left with my son who does production work ]
