Plastigauge has only been around, for, what, fifty years?  As hotrodding
teenagers building up V8s in the Fifties its usage was for us, at least, as
common as having to add oil to an engine.  One extra torqueing of the lower
end/rods was necessary, but it was/is the best insurance available and the
ONLY true way to know if everything's kosher down there. IIRC, its use is
documented in the shop manual; I'll check.
