If the cooler cover ITSELF is sticking up too high, you may not have
properly engaged the tab on its end that is closer to the centerline of the
car, with the upper shroud in that area. The tab goes UNDER the shroud. Hard
to see - even to feel - in there.

Subject: <VV> Interference Problem - Cover and Alt Bolt?

While reassembling a customer's engine, I have discovered that one of the
bolts for the alternator (closest to the engine top cover) can not be
installed
because there is no room (for a wrench or socket) between the top cover -
where
the oil cooler cover goes - and the bolt. It is late 140 engine, with what I
believe to be the correct cover (all the holes line up with the block and
the
two side shrouds). It's as if the "hump" where the cooler cover installs is
"too tall". What's wrong?
Thanks,
Grant
