IMHO the Corvair starter & solenoid if supplied with correct amplitude of
voltage and current, and in reasonably good shape, does not get enough
ambient heat even in desert or FL environments, to adversely affect
operation. My Dad drove them all the time in LV and I in Ft Lauderdale
without problems. And it was hot! Probably still is! :>)
