i really really like the thread serts over helicoils because they van not end 
up in the cylinder later while changing plugs!  i have repaired several over 
the years that ended up "walking" into the cylinders. the threadsert with its 
burred flange bites into the recessed area at the edge of the hole and stays 
put. just wash the area well with brake or carb clean and a dab of loctite it 
will stay.  use a shop vac to clean filings after tapping.  heck i had one set 
of heads here  that someone drilled out to take  some big tractor or ford 
plugs once. helicoils are fine for blind holes like the head studs etc.
