<VV> Hard to get into Reverse

My 67 that has a 4 speed transmission that has always been difficult to get
into reverse. I rebuilt the shifter and put Clarks bronze bushing kit in the
shift tube awhile back, and it has been working decent, but at times was
difficult to get it in reverse. It has gotten to the point that now it is
almost impossible to get in reverse, no matter how hard I slam it to the left.
Always ends up in first. I checked the shift rod coupler, which I understand
can cause this recently and it appeared to be O.K. I did replace the pin when
I rebuilt the shift tube and shifter so I doubt if it is worn (only driven a
few hundred miles). What is the best way to fix this thing. I have a quick
shift kit that I had considered putting in, but was told that this made the
adjustments even more critical. Any suggestions on how to diagnose and fix
this problem appreciated.

I am leaving for St.Augustine in the morning, so I guess I will have to watch
were I park, or plan on doing some pushing at times until I get back home to
work on it. I'll check your suggestions Sunday after I get back. Thanks.
