<VV> opinions, before I buy (long, but worthwhile)

Without even looking at the pictures (yet), I'll post my "normal" advice.
1. Buy the best car that you can afford.
2. For the same $5000 (just a random number) you will have a much finer car if you buy one for $5000 than you will buying a $500 car and spending $4500 on
it.
3. Buy a car that's being used for what you want it used for. If you want a driver, but a car that's being used as a driver. Even a show queen may end up
costing you unplanned dollars if you turn it into a driver.
4. If possible, buy a car that's in the mechanical/cosmetic condition that you can live with OR plan to spend the money immediately to bring it up to snuff. There
is nothing more frustrating than "living with" a project car that you "plan" to fix up. 75% of these never get fixed up and are sold at a loss.
5. A turbo is not a good first Corvair.
