 James Reeves did a lap at Talladega on the oval of something like 135 for
 the fastest closed course record for a Stinger back in the good old days
 when they let people try for speed record on the oval.  I cannot fine the
 specific piece of paper with the exact number.

****I remember that event. I thought that the speed was 147 or thereabouts.
 
 Corvette News (Vol 2 #3) reports at the 67 Runoffs at Dayton Jerry Thompson
 was clocked at 141 on the banking. He was using a 3.27 rear end.
