<VV> LM Convertible Question

Sorry Bob, just went a took another look, I actually have 7 (seven) clips. Looking at the Body Service Manual, the top material doesn't have anything to do with this molding; it's just to hold the tonneau cover. The top is held in by the galvanized trim sticks. So my impression is the exact number & spacing of the clips isn't critical.

Who's doing your top? They probably have a pretty good idea how these things work....

Oh yeah and I thought you were referring to the *clips* when you said L-shaped not the trim pieces themselves....

Hi Les,

That's good to hear because I have 6 clips as well plus a fresh set of the
fasteners you mentioned so it looks like I have what I need.

Ok, I have to ask, what shape would you call the stainless trim pieces? :-)

Thanks,
Bob

Hi Bob;

I have six (6) of those clips. They are bagged separately from the moldings
so I can't tell exactly where they go. My molding is held to the car by 5 of
the "screw through dome fasteners"; two on each side and one in the middle
at the back. They're not really L-shaped though.....

Subject: <VV> LM Convertible Question

Hi,

I'm looking for information on the clips that hold down the large L shaped
stainless pieces that the top boot snaps to at the back of my 66
convertible. Clarks calls them C3690 and they seem to be made of unobtanium.

I've got a couple and I'm looking to for more information, specifically
- how many are needed?
- where do they fit - are they just evenly spaced?
- a source if I don't have enough

Thanks,
Bob
