I'm no expert on Ferraris or magnesium, but my guess would be "yes".

I did talk to a powdercoating guy today at Carlilse. His take was "sure" they can powercoat them...but when I mentioned they were finished in an old "chrome 
salt" (I thought), he asked me to describe them. He then said the chrome salt finish was still protecting them and that he would not strip it off... that I was better 
off just painting over it if I didn't like how it looked....
