<VV> problems with the belts on 140

Hello Gino,
Your English is much better than ANY second language I know!  You have done 
most of the logical things to solve this issue.  Here are some other ideas 
that you either did not mention or may not have done yet:
1. Run ONLY a very narrow belt.  My preference is an industrial belt from 
Gates, a 3VX560, which is a 3/8-inch wide belt and 56 inches long.
2. Make sure there is NO rust on any pulleys.  A wood stick used VERY 
carefully can remove the rust quickly at idle.  This is potentially very 
dangerous, so use extreme care, safety glasses, etc. OR just clean the 
pulleys with a safer method.
3. Make VERY sure the pulley alignment is nearly at right angles to the top 
fan pulley and the alternator and idler pulley as well as from those two 
pulleys to the harmonic balancer.  It is critical that the belt alignment 
is right vertical from the harmonic balancer.
4. Make sure the Harmonic Balancer is NEW and the two indicator "chisel" 
marks are in alignment.
5. Install all belt guides, since you did not mention them specifically.
6. If all else fails, order deeper groove billet pulleys that will make it 
impossible to throw a belt, since the grooves are so deep.  You can get 
these for at least the fan and alternator pulleys.
7. Double check the bearings are OK by removing the belt and checking for 
noise, rough operation, etc.
8. Make very sure you are using an alternator accessory mount versus a 
generator mount.  I suspect Larry Claypool would never knowingly sell you 
an engine with that, but double check.
