Snip-------------------------------
1) Tested the battery 12.2 volts, that's good. Tested the coil to the best
of my knowledge 2.2 volts, uh is that right? ...............

2) The is a condenser bolted to the coil band could this have anything to do
with the problem and what's that thingy (Thingy is a technical term) do
anyway? Is there clean cut way to test to see if the coil is good and how
much voltage should be coming out of it?..................

3) On the left side of the engine compartment there's a box about 2 x 2
cubed that reads Delco Remy looks like a transformer to me...what is it and
what's it do? And the condenser attached to it? Is there yet another
condenser in the distributor? Of these three condenser with is the ignition
condenser?.....................

4) If the fuel pump isn't pumping gas is it more likely the pump is bad or
that there's a clog in the line from the tank?
Unsnip-----------------------------

Alesia,

I'll try to answer some of your questions.
1) Coil voltage - should be higher than 2.2 volts.....roughly 9V running,
12V during starting. How are you measuring this voltage?

2) Condenser on coil is for radio noise suppression, I think.

3) That's the voltage regulator. The condenser on it also is for radio noise
suppression. And you are right, there is another condenser in the
distributor.

4) Most likely a bad pump....you could run a line from a gas can to the pump
inlet and see if it pumps gas.

Good luck with your repairs....and I have the same luck with blood when
working on my car. The car gods demand a blood sacrifice in order for the
repair effort to be successful.
