"Ordinary '64 4-Door"....HA....What Bill in all modesty fails to tell
ya'll is that not only did he take Best of Show with that Ordinary
car...He also took Top Seniors Spot also....That in a car driven from
the Tidewater area in a rain storm and then Autocrossed on Saturday
morning....Good job Bill, thanks for coming and giving us such good
feedback and posting the pics.

Well after months of planning, worry and anxiety and a long
weekend,Capital City Corvairs can take a much deserved break,The Hotel
was well received by all,We had dozens of beautiful Corvairs filling the
show area,The autocrossers appeared to have a blast and everyone
survived a long, but very interesting and fun rally. The banquet went well
with both good food and an interesting speaker......and Sorry Alan but
the weather was absolutely gorgeous!!

Bill was not joking when he said it was a busy morning judging cars,We
had 18 cars in Concours with 6 being Senior division,I judged for the
first time and it was an experience to say the least,All 18 were
showstoppers and took the whole 3 hours allotted to judge.Much Thanks
goes out to Charlie West for keeping us on track and to Sara Jenkins
also for keeping us on time.

Both Saturday and Sunday were busy from start to end,Josh and Samantha
Weaver won the rally and folks it pains me to say that if not for
me....Walter Carter would have won...as it is He finished 4th without
getting lost one time....Bill and Doug DNF'ed but they threw a fan belt
3 times and a typo caused most everyone to get lost at the
airport.(maybe Bill will put the pic up of Doug with his car off the
wheels in the Auto-X)Thanks to Rallymaster Dan Stamm Jr. for coming up
with the route and also for his work he put in designing and making the
trophies.

If you attended this weekend, please take the time to drop Tom Hulsey or
Tracy Serviss a line and thank them for their hard work(or any other
Raleigh member you think of),and if you drop Tom a line, also give his
daughter Jennifer a thank you for giving up her weekend to take care of
the Hospitality room and for putting up with all of us.

We got Lon(along with Hank) fed BBQ on friday and got him back on the
plane for home this afternoon,Thanks Lon for coming and we will be
seeing you in Portland this summer.

We had around 50 cars in attendance and I have no idea the number of
people, hopefully I can get some numbers and names of all the winners of
the events and put them up tomorrow.

All in all it went well and all of us in the Raleigh club thank those
who attended and very much appreciate all the kind words you had for
us.Also congratulations to all members of Corsa/NC on the 30th
anniversary of its charter and to Tom Hulsey for being voted Corsa/NC
member of the year.
