I believe your policy is correctly formulated, and effective to some degree
(don't know how much so). You probably save gas, too. Wear on your starter,
battery, and so on.
     Here in South Florida, of course, you will get your car stolen that
way.

When driving my corvair and need to stop,  if I am going to be out of  car
less then 5 min. I leave car runing. I feel that it is better to idle and
cool
down than restarting hot car. Does anyone have an opinion on what is  best.
