Whatever color you paint it, look at the tint in the paint so it goes with
your interior that you choose (or keep if the red).  Some colors have a
certain hue that is complimentary, while others do not. Example:  Silver
with bluish tint or brownish tint.  Another is the wide variety of reds-some
are VERY orange and others bluish.

I've always perfered white or red with red.  But silver is nice too even 
black but not my choice.  There you go, have fun with it!
