Joe, etal,   Camaro's are "Unibody"  just like Vairs!...the BIG difference 
being that the FRONT supension is attached to a "Subframe"...that is attached to 
the "unibody" [ under the passenger area floor].  This is to support the Cast 
Iron  engines....

One of the BIG  performance  [ body rigidity ] improvements are pieces to 
"tie"  that front subframe to the rear spring attachment points....vs...putting 
in a rollcage to do the same thing, what OUR serious racer do! 

It's really just "market demand" that governs it.
