<VV> 69 powertrain removal - it's stuck

Well, I see you are supposed to take the crossmember out with the powertrain. 
 I will do this, and it will then get the job done, but where do you find 
this stuff out?  I went out and bought all the books!  Using the 65 manual, it 
says to remove the bolts from the crossmember to the transmission.  I know that 
the 69 has a different transmission than the 65, so I looked in my 69 manual 
to see if there are any different instructions, there weren't any.  I believe 
the 69 has the same transmission as the 66-68, so do I have to have the 66, 67, 
and 68 books too in order to service my 69?????   Jeez, I would think that 
Chevrolet could have made this a little easier!
