Now Bill, you've heard this discussed before. Stock diameter (7.00 x 
13) is about 25.3". This is the actual diameter of the tire, not the 
loaded diameter or anything else. Similarly, the diameters I mentioned 
are actual diameters, not loaded.

I understand what you meant by "dropping down". I just wanted to point 
out that if you leave the 225/50's on the rear and put 205/60's on the 
front, you'll have a larger diameter tire on the front, which may look 
odd.

If you'd like to study the theory of tire sizes in detail, come to our 
autocross this weekend. We'll be giving demonstrations of the benefits 
of short, wide, s-t-i-c-k-y tires!!!

P.S. You can fly into Greenville/Spartanburg airport and a rental car 
will have you at the autocross site in fifteen minutes. Be sure you 
pump the tires up at a gas station before you get to the autocross!
