The points can overheat (blue) if in the closed position, coil could be
constantly energized leading to heat build-up and high battery drain, and
the car may start without warning if it creeps forward or is pushed.

Is there any harm in leaving the ignition in the ON position  w/o the
engine
running if, for example, one wants to play the radio for a while?  (Besides

the obvious drain on the battery.)
