<VV> help w/S-W temp gage/timing Q?

..Hi,just wondering if anyone can tell me how to wire a S-W head temp gauge,"499D" on back,"S W 789" in circle on side..found in box in that 'nader hater' trunk,has the ring to go under sparkplug,insulated posts 'X' and 'X2' wires don't match leads on ring, '--' is obviously ground..like to see if it works,,,2nd ,(i know this has been posted --can't find it) --what's the total dist advance,when it's"all in"--'65 shop man says 24* vac alone, 110/20* at4800rpm, 95/28* at4200rpm for weights--shouldn't they be in around 2500? This is on the 60-over 95 head motor..it does the run-on knock once when i shut down--thanks,Tom
