Guys.as a long time Airline employee,I can tell you its OK to check
parts and tools in your checked baggage, just use common sense.....Make
sure your toolbox is clean and unlocked...ask the agent to have the TSA
personnel lock it after its either hand inspected, run through the CTX
machine or the bomb sniffer...you want all parts and the tool box clean
of oils and other chemicals as they will cause a positive in the
machines and warrant further search and inspection, which could cause
your bag to miss the flight....DO NOT try to check any cleaning
materials or lubricants..they will confiscate anything of a flammable or
toxic nature...Any Carbs should be clean and dry..just let the agent
know whats up when you check in and there should be no problems, its done
all the time, especially on Caribbean flights.

PS..on the Weapon and Ammunition in the same bag,its a certain amount of
ammo and the ammo needs to be in its ORIGINAL packaging, not just its own
seperate package

just my .02
