Smitty says:  But Why!!  At that point you have the shifter (or PG cable)
disconnected.  The Emerg cable off. The clutch disconnected.  All engine
seals removed.  Axles out.  Speedo cable off.  Dipsticks off.  Wiring
disconnected Etc Etc.  Everything is off except the rear motor mount
which would be backed off to allow the front of the engine to swing down.
 And then you try to work under the handicap of manhandling the
transmission.  Arguing that Bill is wrong is like arguing that you can go
up the Empire State building on either the inside or the outside.  No
slam intended Clark but I wouldn't want some newbie getting the idea that
is an option.
