<VV> Re: (VV) Vaun Hamlin sendoff

Hello All:

Today (Saturday) was the Memorial Service for Vaun
Hamlin, one of Corvairdoms legends. On hand were about
100 of his friends, including another Corvair legend,
Tony Fiore.

Services were held in Sun City Center, an upscale
retirement community where Vaun and his wife Charlotte
have lived for the past five years or so, following
his retirement from his auto repair business in
Pittsburgh. 

Four Corvairs, driven by his car cruise and car show
buddies arrived just in time. Three converts and one
two door made up the entourage which toured the main
drag of Sun City Center until, at the very last
minute, became un-lost and breezed into the funeral
home parking lot.

The group carried a large poster which stated, "we're
saving a parking spot for Vaun" and included a photo
montage of him and his prisim=painted late model
fourdoor. The funeral folks put it in a frame and put
it on an easel in the front of the chapel. All the
members of his OurVairs club signed it. Nice touch.

Even nicer touch: his car was there. Parked right in
front of the funeral parlor.

Corvair guys don't die -- they just keep motoring
away, sometimes here, sometimes there.
