....wow...back in '70-'72,when i worked at Rochester Gen Hosp,4-12;30 pm,i used to listen to WSAY,1370 AM,great station, better than top-40 WBBF,but they shut down at 12;35 AM...one night, trying to find 1370 manually, heading west on 104 (Keeler st xway),I caught CASEY PETROWSKI ,heralded by that 'boom',talking about Rod Stewart....found myself sitting at 104/Long Pond rd ,in Greece,5miles past my turn at Lake Ave and sitting in front of a 24-hr Mobil station ....gas was like 30 cents--took $3.30 to fill-up during a song, and decided to continue west and look for an all-nite EATS place, which turned out to be some greasy-spoon in Niagara Falls...their 'double-plays' were cool, too, thrown in unexpectedly--usually the edited 'best part' of the previous song--to the delight of all the off-key singers and 'dashboard drummers' back then--all-steel dash's like my dark green 65 Monza had ,have a better tone quality than today's plastic ones,i think...trying to play along with "wipe-out" was
always fun, especially in traffic !!...just before sunrise,i pulled back in to my driveway, big smile on,and pretty tired...did that a few times again ...loved to drive that car,and my son now has a dark metallic green 65 Monza coupe,110/4sp....Tom Z
