The concours is on Wed for several reasons. For one it is the most
difficult and time consuming event to score. It also pretty much takes the
longest. Who wants to try and get that done in time for the banquet. As
Concours is the most prestigeous event, it usually takes the most
preparation, mostly done prior to the event. Concours participants don't
want to get their cars dirty on rallys and autocrosses before concours. Any
change in schedule would hurt participation.
Having the car display on Sat, would hurt participation on the regular
Saturday event.

While having the Concours on Sat would help out from a publicity
standpoint, it would be a logistical nightmare..............
