<VV> Corvair engine test stands

I have successfully run Corvair engines with the engine just sitting on the  
floor.  No big deal - no vibration or anything scary.  I set them on a  piece 
of plywood to keep the concrete from scratching the engine and  vice-versa.  I 
have also done this without a transaxle; I just made spacers  for the starter 
from a couple of pieces of 1/2" conduit.
